If your club was not represented at the recent refresher/upgrade sessions for TCS (laptop scoring) your scoring PC will NOT work on Saturday and you will be unable to use it to report the result of the opening fixture.

For your information here are step by step instructions on how to do the upgrade yourself – this MUST be done on the scorers laptop.

1) Remove TCS current version . (Start> Settings> Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs> Total Cricket Scorer > Remove)
2) Go to CYCL website (ADMIN>RESULTS>TCS DOWNLOADS) and download the 3 new files (cyclweb.com/index.php?option=com_rokdown...older&Itemid=277). Save them in ‘My Documents’
3) Run TCS version 5 setup program
4) Run TCS. Window ‘Get Key’ should appear (If not on TCS menu go Help> Get Key). Select ‘Request key via email’ and press ‘OK’
5) Email window will appear with a UNIQUE Registration ID no. Make a note of this number and send an email with your club name (eg Wakefield St Michaels CC - CYCL) and this number to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
6) You will receive a reply by email (may take a few hours) which will give 2 numbers a serial number and an activation key. Start up TCS and select Help> Register TCS. Enter these numbers into the relevant boxes and press OK.
7) TCS V5 should now be fully activated.

To updated the player database:
1) You should have downloaded the new database in step 2 above (CYCL_Vxxx)
2) Start TCS and select Data> Replace database.
3) When asked if you want to replace click OK
4) Select CYCL_Vxxx in My Documents and click the Open button
5) The database will now be updated.

You can’t update the database until your version of the software has been activated.

Whilst we are quite prepared to help out with any problems that you have and will initially adopt a flexible approach to reporting deadlines**; issues concerning the upgrade of the computer will not be considered as mitigation for late submission of results.

Don’t leave the upgrade until Friday as it relies on TCS replying to your request for a key to activate the program
