Minutes of Last Meeting
The minutes were approved

Matters Arising
1) Wakefield City CC.
a) The decision to award 6 points to WC’s opponents in weeks 10 & 11 was ratified.
b) The decision regarding WC players being ‘free agents’ was clarified in light of the fact that some players still had financial obligations to the club. Only players who satisfied YCB requirements were free to transfer to other clubs. Until released by the club, the players are officially still registered to WC. A list of players with outstanding debts has been submitted to the league.
2) Andrew Newton is in dispute with Ossett CC and cannot transfer until the situation is resolved by the two parties. The matter is outside the league’s jurisdiction.
3) Disappointment was expressed at the inability of the league to find a suitable ground for the Leeds Area Knockout game.

Correspondence
1) Letter from G.Parkes submitting an entry for the ‘Logo’ competition – unfortunately the closing date had passed. In the same letter he put himself forward for the vacant position of league chairman.
2) A telephone call was made to the President nominating David Sharpe  for the position of chairman.
With respect to the subject of the new chairman, in the interests of continuity, the President volunteered to continue in the role as chairman until the merge is completed. His offer was accepted by the committee.
3) Letter from Wakefield Thornes informing the league that planning permission for their new pavilion had been granted.
4) A letter from Wakefield Thornes regarding the points deduction given for a late score sheet (even though the game was a cup match). The rule make no distinction between league and cup fixtures – a second offence of late submission means 2 league points deducted.
5) Letter from Hunslet Nelson (copied to BSPCC) concerning vandalism by some Buttershaw St Pauls’ players after their abandoned game. The cost of repairs is being assessed by their insurers. The insurance company has indicated that they may seek compensation from BSPCC. Members of BSPCC committee (+ 1st team captain) will be asked to attend the next management meeting.
6) Letter received from Michael Hampshire confirming that he will be attending the JH cup final.
7) Request from Townville CC that they can play a player in their JH game who has already participated in the Barry Winstanley. League rule to apply – Townville must select an eligible player. Secretary to contact Townville.
8) Letter from Mark Heald tendering his resignation with immediate effect. The President has spoken with Mark who has indicated that he is prepared to continue on the Steering committee and continue his involvement with the White Rose competitions. The committee asked that Mark’s valuable contribution to the management of the league be recognised.
9) Letter from Ron Wolfenden regarding the recent Birstall/Methley cup game. The chairman will contact Ron personally.
