Annual General Meeting 2007
This year's AGM will be held on 13th December at Ossett CC (7.15pm start). Clubs are reminded that attendance at the AGM is mandatory - any clubs not represented will be liable to a £25 fine.

On 7th November 2007, I attended the presentation given to the
Huddersfield League by Andrew Carter of the Border & Immigration Agency on the subject of overseas players and the changes in the work permit system which will impact on Season 2009. Andrew will be giving the same presentation to our Clubs prior to the AGM.

To me the system appeared complex and will involve Clubs in issuing the work permits. In extreme cases, failure to complete procedures correctly will not just be a fine from the League and a points deduction, but may lead to a criminal prosecution. Hopefully, it will never come to this eventuality, however, Clubs will have to become familiar with the new arrangements.

I strongly recommend to all Clubs that they send two representatives to the AGM, at least one being a senior official of the Club. Andrew`s presentation, together with questions, lasted approximately 1 hour 45 minutes and will be followed by the AGM, therefore, it will be a long night.
