OVERSEAS PLAYERS 2007
The procedures regarding the registration of overseas players have been changed for this season

Overseas players must now be registered with the ECB using the Overseas Clearance Form.

This must be sent to the ECB, together with the following documents:

-    Police clearance from the country he is coming from

-    Copy of work permit/visa ( whatever is allowing him to be in the UK for that time

-    Copy of his passport

The League Management recognise that most overseas players do not arrive in this country until shortly before our season commences, therefore, it is possible that the registration process will not be completed in time to allow overseas players to play in the opening league fixtures.

In the circumstances described above, the ECB have recommended that the player is asked to complete a Self Declaration Form as an interim measure.

Although we have been assured by the ECB, that the registration process will be carried quickly when all the correct documentation has been received, we do anticipate there may be delays in some cases. Under the circumstances, we will allow overseas players to participate in league games, providing the league, in the shape of David Morris, has received a copy of the documentation sent to the ECB, together with a copy of the Self Declaration Form.

We have to issue a health warning with these instructions. Clubs must be confident that the player in question will receive clearance, if the player does not receive clearance and has played in league games, the club in question will be deemed to have fielded an ineligible player and will be penalised accordingly. In addition, clubs must send to David Morris a copy of the letter of clearance confirmation issued by the ECB, when it is received by the overseas player.
