Minutes of the CYCL Management Meeting -
Held at Ossett CC
On 4th January 2007

Apologies
Mr P Swire, Mr J Stabler

The Chairman opened the meeting by welcoming a new member, Mr Steve Kidd from Westwood Park.  Mr Kidd had shown interest in becoming the new Results Secretary and invited along to the meeting.
Minutes of Last Meeting
Minutes were approved as being a true and accurate account of the previous Management Meeting.
Matters Arising
Late distribution of minutes
Urgent Matters
The Committee would like to thank Mr John Tomlinson, Mr Terry Waite and Mr Geoff Wilson for all their hard work and commitment they have given to the league over the years.  All three gentlemen have resigned from their posts on the CYCL Management Committee.

The Chairman is to write to Mr John Stabler confirming his new position as President of the CYCL.

Crigglestone CC has informed the League that they will no longer be involved in the CYCL.  Due to lack of players, the Club could no longer fulfil the Leagues commitments.  The Committee would like to thank Crigglestone and wish them all the luck in the future.

As previously stated, Roundhay CC also have had to retire from the League.  Roundhay did send their thanks to the Committee for their help over the years.

Thornhill CC has also raised their concerns that they too may have to depart from the League.  Once again, the lack of playing resource and struggling to produce junior teams are the main contributing factors.  As Thornhill are still very unsure about their future, the Chairman is to call them and ask for a speedy decision and the Secretary will follow this up in writing.  As this issue is now having a knock on effect to the fixtures being released, the Club will be given a strict 7 days to respond with a definite decision.
A discussion took place on the subject of Clubs leaving the league at short notice and penalties to be put in place if this occurs.  The Committee resolved that this would be something that will be looked into, in more depth, when rules changes are discussed.
Handbook
As the production of the Handbook is an intensive task, it was decided that the Cricket Sub Committee take a lead role in its production and oversee the printing process.
Management Committee Vacancies
2 individuals from within the League have expressed an interest in joining the Committee.  It was proposed that both people are to be invited to come along to the February Management Meeting.

Sub Committees
Due to resent resignations and new members to be appointed, it was decided to postpone the election of new sub committees.

Disciplinary
A decision on who will take the lead role in this position is to be made at the next Committee Meeting.
