CYCL midseason 2006Halfway Point reached
It's hard to believe that we're midway through the season but last weekend saw the change over and reverse fixtures from now on. This season’s performances are starting to take on a familiar feel.

Last season’s winner of the Premier batting award, Townville's Tim Walton leads the run chase with 532 runs followed closely by Alex Schofield of Mirfield PC and Connor Williams of Birstall. But it's another Townville player, Lee Smith who comes out top of the averages with 94.5.

It's a different story with the bowling. Wrenthorpe's David Paynter making the most of the dry weather claiming 26 wickets at an average of 9.31. Fellow team mate and Australian Overseas player Grant Lambert is in second with 10 wickets at 10.1.  Last years winner and CYCL legend David Battye is some way off the pace with 14 wickets at 26.79

In Division One, Liversedge batters Bentley and Chunara have together spanked 726 runs so far this season. This coupled with 47 wickets from Purdy at an average of 9.79 has helped their side to second place in the league. But it's current league leaders Carlton have much to thank Michael Roberts for as he tops the Division One bowling averages with 41 wickets at an average 8.39. Both sides are due to play each other this coming weekend.

In the wicket keeping department, it appears it's all happening in Wakefield. City's Hibbert takes top spot in the Premier with 17 victims’ while in Division One, Froggett from rivals Thornes has also taken 17.
