Double Washout for Week 5
The reservoirs may be dry in the south of the country but that didn’t stop a second successive wash out as the rain bucketed down in West Yorkshire. In most cases, the usual card games didn’t even get a look in as most games were cancelled as soon the visitors arrived.

It was the same story on Sunday with the first round of the Jack Hampshire and Wheatley Cup all falling foul of the weather. These games have been rearranged for next Sunday.

But with the forecasters predicting the same weather throughout the week, we could see further disruptions next weekend with the risk of waterlogged pitches.

On a lighter note, we’ve been sent an amusing photo from Ossett Cricket Club who were wondering what this new umpiring signal means. So this is an invitation to all CYCLWEB readers to submit your original, clean and amusing suggestions. (). The most amusing will appear here
